The Weekly Word: Revel In Jesus' Resurrection
The weekly verse
“He isn’t here—he has risen victoriously, just as he said! Come inside the tomb and see the place where our Lord was lying.”
Matthew 28:6 (TPT)
the weekly question
How is the enemy limiting your liberty?
Deceit, in all its various forms, is the default tool of our spiritual enemy. This is how satan works to “steal, kill, and destroy” (Jesus, John 10:10) the fullness of life that God has for us. In the Garden of Eden, his deception created a “distrust in God’s word”, which led to the loss of mankind’s original dominion. In the wilderness, many Israelites were deceived into “doubting God’s plan” & missed out on the Promised Land. And now...
“...because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.”
Ephesians 1:11 (NLT)
As born-again Believers, we have been joined to Jesus in such a way that, we can “partake in His divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). This is why the Apostle Peter urges us to: “supplement our faith, avoid unfruitful living, and pursue deeper intimacy with Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 5,8). In doing so, “God grants us greater access to His eternal Kingdom” (verse 11).
May the Holy Spirit deliver you from every lie of the enemy, which seeks to rob you of your God-given authority. May your heart be purified from the hardening-deception of sin, so you can experience even more of Him. And may the Truth of Jesus give you a greater sense of liberty as you walk-out your Kingdom destiny.
“Deliver me and save me from these dark powers who speak nothing but lies. Their words are pure deceit, and you can’t trust anything they say. Deliver us! Then our homes will be happy. Our sons will grow up as strong, sturdy men and our daughters with graceful beauty, royally fashioned as for a palace.
Our barns will be filled to the brim, overflowing with the fruits of our harvest. Our fields will be full of sheep and cattle, too many to count, and our livestock will not miscarry their young. Our enemies will not invade our land, and there’ll be no breach in our walls. What bliss we experience when these blessings fall! The people who love and serve our God will be happy indeed!”
Psalms 144:11-15 (TPT)
the weekly Consideration
God’s Word warns us that in the last days, people will search for a version of truth that “gives their itching ears whatever they desire to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3). This is why we each have a responsibility to take inventory on the truth we’re taking in. As John 6:45 clearly states: authentic, God-given revelation always leads us back to the Person of Truth, Christ Jesus.
“Jesus continued, “It has been written by the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God himself.’ If you are really listening to the Father and learning directly from him, you will come to me.”
John 6:45 (TPT)
the weekly challenge
Take Another step
“Whatever happens, keep living your lives based on the reality of the gospel of Christ. Then when I come to see you, or hear good reports of you, I’ll know that you stand united in one Spirit and one passion—celebrating together as conquerors in the faith of the gospel.
For you have been called by him to endure the conflict in the same way I have endured it—for you know I’m not giving up.”
Philippians 1:27, 30 (TPT)
If you are a follower of Christ, there should never be a lack of celebration in your life. Of course, this doesn’t mean everything is what you desire it to be circumstantially. It simply means that as you endure, you continue to live your life based on the “reality of the Gospel of Christ.” And the reality is—
We Are Conquerors In The Faith.
When the remnant of God’s people come together, it’s a celebration. We stand in one Spirit and one passion, and revel in the reality of Jesus’ resurrection. His victory is ours, and as we walk in His Kingdom authority, we are transformed & become a more powerful reflection of His Marvelous Light.
Maybe the one step you need to take today is to simply celebrate in Christ. Your heart needs to be reminded of the rich reality that accompanies salvation (Hebrews 6:9). You can now worship the Lord in His Presence & experience His love, peace, joy, power & Promises. And as you do—
God’s Spirit Will Reignite You.
For others of you, your “one step” may look different. You may realize the truth of what Martin Lloyd-Jones once expressed when he said: “We are all one in sin, one in failure, one in hopelessness, one in need of the Lord Jesus Christ and His great salvation.” Today you may realize—
I Don’t Yet Know Jesus As The Lord & Savior Of My Life.
By the Grace of God’s Spirit, your heart has been opened to genuinely recognize this truth. To recognize the reality of Acts 4:12, which tells us, “salvation is found in no one else. There is no other name by which man can be saved”. And today you recognize—
Jesus Is The One.
You have one confession to make. One step of faith to take. You can call out to God for forgiveness and He will hear you & He will save you (Romans 8:11). This one step turns you away from your sin & towards your Savior. This one step leads you to be spiritually born-again. This one step opens the door of salvation so that—
You Can Walk Fully In God’s Kingdom Of Transformation.
