Which “way” will you go?
Jesus made it abundantly clear that there is a broad path that many are on, which is ultimately destined for destruction, eternal separation from God, and known as a horrific place called hell” (Jesus, Matthew 7:13). While this is an incredibly sad & sobering reality of the consequence of the evils of sin, our God has graciously made The Way for us to be forgiven, restored to a peaceful relationship with Himself, and to know His loving goodness for all eternity.
This “One Way” is Jesus.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
It’s not enough to have a head-knowledge and know “about” Jesus. We must, in the words of Jesus Himself, “be born-again” by the Spirit of God (Jesus, John 3:3). Romans 10:13 gives us the great & unbreakable assurance that “anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”. Anyone who believes & confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, who died & was resurrected on the 3rd day, will be saved.
If the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart right now because you realize that you don’t know Jesus, call out to Him to save you & He will be faithful to do so. The Lord knows the honest cry of our heart, so don’t be intimidated if you’re having trouble finding the right words. Consider the following prayer as a guide to help you confess your sin, your willingness to repent (reject your old life), and receive Jesus as your Lord & Savior.
*Prayer:
Father God, I know that I have sinned & fallen short of Your Holiness. I know the only thing I deserve is eternal punishment, but I confess & turn away from the sin that has severed our relationship. I call on the Lord Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself for me & rose again, so that I could believe in His Name & receive New Life. Lord Jesus, I ask for my spirit to be reborn. I ask that You fill me with Your Holy Spirit, transform my mind, and teach me to faithfully follow you. Thank you for loving me & I commit to knowing, serving, & loving you for the rest of my life.
Amen.
