The Weekly Word: Walking In Wisdom

The weekly verse

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

James‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭(BSB‬‬)

the weekly question

Is your vision viable?

The wisdom of Proverbs 29:18 warns that a “lack of Godly vision” is a sure-fire way to end up lost & on a perishing path. When we give thoughtful consideration to our failures in business, relationships, and life’s various pursuits, our experiences attest to this very truth.

But interestingly enough, many people who have vision also find themselves stumbling right along with those who don’t. This is why it’s important to understand that agreeing with “God’s vision” starts the journey, however, agreeing with “God’s process” sustains the journey.

“Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.”

Proverbs 16:9 (TPT)

When we refuse to walk with Jesus, and surrender to The Spirit’s timing & process, we end up with an impossible undertaking. We find ourselves striving (in our own strength) to bring about a God-inspired outcome while foolishly removing God from the equation.

Though we may possess some level of revelation, our lack of personal restraint ends up restricting the flow of God’s blessing in that area of our life. Which is why we have to remember that, at the core of our relationship with The Lord—

Living In Agreement Means Living In Alignment.

God is a Good Father, and He gives generously & righteously to His children. But if we refuse to align ourselves with God & His Ways, our lack of discernment will continue to drive us into one ditch after another. If you’re truly serious about seeing a God-given vision fulfilled—

Keep Your Faith In The One Who Fathered The Vision.

“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been sustained from the womb, carried along since birth. Even to your old age, I will be the same, and I will bear you up when you turn gray.

I have made you, and I will carry you; I will sustain you and deliver you.”

Isaiah 46:3-4 (BSB)

the weekly Consideration

“I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Jesus (John 15:5, BSB)

the weekly challenge

Rise & Shine

"The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters."

Genesis 1:2

Going back to the beginning of God’s Word, we find profound elements of symbolism that illustrate a prophetic picture for the times we’re living in. We see the earth lacked meaningful form & had no prescribed boundaries, resulting in a covering of darkness & deep waters. And yet, The Spirit of God was found hovering “above” it all. From a place of ruling-authority & wisdom:

“[The Lord] set in place the pillars of the earth and spoke the decrees of the seas, commanding the waves so that they wouldn’t overstep their boundaries...”

Proverbs 8:29 (TPT)

In this day & age, we have no shortage of “unrestrained waters” to contend with. We’re bombarded with a sea of information, which threatens to drown us on an everyday basis. Due to technology & the nature of modern living, our capacity for intimate & healthy relationships is diluted by a sea of people. And the depth of issues related to a lack of boundaries, the brokenness of man & worldly systems go well beyond this.

“Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace;

A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

Proverbs 4:7-9 (NKJV)

Those “who know their God & seek His Wisdom will be strong & do great exploits” (Daniel 11:32). Though “the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of The Lord will lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19).

As Sons & Daughters of God, our call is to “rise above” the waters just as our Heavenly Father did in the beginning. By the blood of Jesus & our testimony, we’re to “overcome” as Jesus has called us to in the end (Revelation 3:21). There is a “garland of grace” given to us in these times, and if we’ll receive what God has given—

His Wisdom Will Crown Us In Victory For All Eternity.

“Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you. For in fact, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness will cover the peoples;

But the Lord will rise upon you [Jerusalem] And His glory and brilliance will be seen on you.”

Isaiah 60:1-2 (AMP)
