The Weekly Word: Confidence In Christ
The weekly verse
“Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.”
Psalms 86:11 (TPT)
the weekly question
What are you searching for?
In this season of your life, what is it you’re looking for? Whether you’d consider yourself a Christ-denier or a Christ-follower, we’re all searching for something. Some of us are trying to find our way, some are trying to find truth, and others are looking for their life. The good news is, we simply need to look back to the beginning.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made…In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:1-5 (BSB)
Jesus is the One who was, and is, and is to come. He is The Way you’re looking to go, The Truth you’re seeking to find, and The Life you’re longing to live. Light came into the world so that you could know this Light, walk in this Light, and testify (in word & deed) to the Light. Light came into the world so you could stop the senseless searching &—
Surrender Your Heart To The Lord Jesus Christ.
the weekly Consideration
Our need to grow in Godly discernment doesn’t diminish. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to meet this need, the more opportunity we have to walk in Jesus’ Truth.
Maturing in this capacity of our relationship with The Lord brings new battles, new breakthroughs, and greater glory & honor to God.
the weekly challenge
Fuel His fire
The power of God is one of the fundamental aspects of the Christian faith. In fact, the Apostle Paul issued a warning in 2 Timothy 3:5, in which he tells us to be on the lookout for those who falsely imitate the One True Power. Paul said:
“There will be people who have a form of godliness but deny its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”
This “imitation godliness” is rampant in our world today. You can find plenty of people who put on a good show, but they lack authentic, spiritual substance. Paul tell us these people will ultimately never advance, so while it may sell now, it will never stand the test of God’s judgment.
As born-again Believers, we have to be diligent & discerning when evaluating the spirit of all we see & hear. We can’t afford to ebb & flow with the trends of this world or even the falsehood that often finds its way in the “church”. Sons & daughters of God don’t depend on trends—
Sons & Daughters Of God Depend On The Spirit.
Because The Spirit of Christ has set us apart, everything we do should be marked by the tangible power of Jesus working within us. We’re not a company of people who deny God’s power, but depend on the power of His daily Presence. We’re to be a company of people who walk in the brightness of ever-increasing righteousness & power (Proverbs 4:18).
Be transformed by renewing your mind with the quenching water of God’s Word. Let the Spirit of Truth guide you in all that you do, and tap into the power God’s reserved for you. Remember, the same Transformative Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells inside of you. Therefore, as a priest & place of God’s Presence—
“Never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.”
1 Thessalonians 5:19 (TPT)
